Alt Notes Start Here
A brief introduction to the wider notes, questions, and observations behind this blog.
I have had a kind of terminal curiosity for as long as I can remember. If something catches my attention, it often lingers in the back of my mind, and I usually cannot leave it alone until I understand how it works, why it works that way, and what assumptions are hiding underneath it.
That curiosity does not stay neatly inside one field. My mind tends to keep wandering in the background. Sometimes it is just admiration: a mechanism, theorem, tool, or discovery that makes me stop and think about the human chain of insight that made it possible. Other times it is frustration: the same human mind can produce strange, brittle, or needlessly awkward solutions, and I end up wondering why there is not a cleaner way.
Over the years, that habit has left me with a broad, mixed body of knowledge across engineering, software, science, systems, and whatever else happened to become interesting enough to follow. Until now, most of it has only surfaced in conversations with people around me: a detail here, a side argument there, an explanation over coffee, a half-finished theory in a chat.
This blog is where more of those notes can live in public.
What I expect to write about
- Backend systems that need predictable behaviour under load.
- Aerospace-inspired software, telemetry, simulation, and control-oriented tools.
- Optimisation problems where constraints matter more than the happy path.
- Small architecture decisions that made a project easier to maintain.
- Odd discoveries, useful mental models, and technical rabbit holes that do not fit cleanly into a project page.
The goal is simple: write down the things I would otherwise only explain once, and make them clear enough that someone else can inspect, question, or build on them.
